The Orrin R. Findley-William & Betty Lute Scholarship Fund

In 1985 the Lorain County Retired Teachers Association awarded the first Orrin R. Findley Scholarship.  Currently, as a result of yearly voluntary contributions by members, LORCORTA is able to give awards to college-bound high school graduates.  These Lorain County graduates must be the children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews of present or former Lorain County educators.

Congratulations to the 2026 recipients (left to right):  Derek Dieterich - a graduate of Avon High School who plans to attend Bowling Green State University, Leah DiFranco - a graduate of Midview High School who plans to attend The Ohio State University, Max Hauck (not shown) - a graduate of Avon High School who will attend Miami University, and Elliot Rion - a graduate of Brookside High School who will attend the University of Akron.
